House Bill 6…..voting results

Here is the results of the State of Ohio House of Representatives voting on House Bill 6.

Please note that Lake County Representatives Callender and Rogers voted for the “Clean Air” bill.  It now goes to the State Senate for a vote.  It will be interesting to see how Senator Eklund votes on this bill.

  15. Commissioner Cirino has everything to gain from a bailout. If it passes and goes well, he can say that he supported it. If it passes and doesn’t go well, he remains silent. If it doesn’t pass, he says that would have passed it. All this with the perspective that he was doing it for the people of Lake County.

    The reality of it all is that the free market determines what is economically viable and what isn’t. Unless there is some over-riding and compelling public interest in subsidizing something that is legitimate interest of government (e.g. the military for national defense), then the market should be allowed to do its thing.

    The horse and buggy industry comes to mind. It was once likely a thriving industry but the automobile essentially put it out of business.
