Ohio Republican Party appoints John Plecnik
to Budget Oversight & Policy Committees

Columbus, Ohio
 – On September 18, 2020, Republican State Central Committeeman John Plecnik was appointed to the Budget Oversight Committee and Policy Committee of the Ohio Republican Party for the 2020-2022 term.  The Committee on Committees of the Ohio Republican Party unanimously recommended Plecnik for both assignments on September 15, and the full body of the Republican State Central Committee unanimously voted to appoint him at their September 18 meeting at the Wells Barn at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus.  “I am humbled and honored by the confidence Chair Jane Timken and the Ohio Republican Party have shown in me,” said Plecnik.  “Serving on the Budget Oversight and Policy Committees, which review the budget of the Ohio Republican Party, puts me in the best position to bring more resources to Northeast Ohio and make sure your contributions are well spent.”

Plecnik represents Ohio Senate District 18, which includes portions of Lake, Geauga and Portage Counties.  Plecnik is serving his first term as Republican State Central Committeeman after winning a three-way primary election on April 28, 2020 with over 60% or 15,131 votes.

According to the Bylaws of the Ohio Republican Party, the Budget Oversight Committee advises and assists the Chairman and the staff in preparation, implementation, and oversight of the annual budget for the ORP’s operation, recommends the final budget for review and approval by the Ohio Republican Finance Committee, Fiscal Review Committee, and Policy Committee, and reviews and analyzes quarterly all proposed and actual income and expenditures of the Committee.

The Policy Committee considers and approves the budget submitted by the Budget Oversight Committee and has the power to act on all matters for the Committee during the interval between its meeting.
