“It’s A Matter Of Life…”

When politicians legitimize babies getting turned into body parts for sale to the highest bidder, that is evil.

In America today, evil is spreading like a leprosy across the face of our land. As we are faced with a virtual “tipping point” in the coming election, we are encouraged to be tolerant of the positions taken by those “on the other side” and to work for compromise. The fact is, when those positions spring from consummate evil and are diametrically opposed to good and basic values, that is terrible advice. There can be no compromise.

When we no longer have any common ground in our most basic values, we lose all basis of being able to communicate and conduct civil discourse.

To have the dialogue necessary to tolerate plurality of opinion, we must be on the same page. We must have the same core values.

Seemingly forever,  we have been advised to keep politics and religion separate in our lives. Again this is terrible advice and is fraught with danger. 

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”― Edmund Burke

Burke said evil triumphs when good men stay silent.  Aristotle similarly said that when good people don’t get involved in politics, they get government by bad people.

Aristotle preferred a kind of constitutional democracy, for what he called “polity” is a state in which rich and poor respect each other’s rights and the best-qualified citizens rule with the consent of all.

Each of us has a responsibility to prevent being governed by bad people.

Evil may have its hour, but God will have His day. Will you do your part to bring that day about?
