November 18th, 2020, Strongsville, Ohio –

Strongsville GOP, in NE Ohio commissioned a statewide survey to gauge the mood of Republican primary voters as it relates to Governor Mike DeWine’s proposed COVID-19 mandates.

Strongsville GOP President Shannon Burns said, “It is clear that the unprecedented actions taken by Governor Mike DeWine in response to the COVID-19 pandemic are not wholly supported by Republican primary voters.”

The survey shows that while 60.1% of Republican primary voters support the statewide mask mandate, 61.6% oppose further business closures. Burns concluded, “this survey clearly demonstrates that Ohio Republican Primary voters will seek an alternative to elected officials that choose to support further restrictions to civil liberties and economic freedom.”

Note: All survey responses were achieved prior to the announcement of a statewide curfew by Governor DeWine.

[LFC Comments: What is still disconcerting to us is that 59.6% of those Republican surveyed approve of the job DeWine is doing. Perhaps the Strongsville GOP’s assessment is correct. The number of supporters will continue to decline as more and more draconian methods meant to destroy the economy is implemented by Governor DeWine and his Stasi group known as the Ohio Department of Health with enforcement from the Bureau of Workers Compensation.

However, it makes no sense that only 23.8% would vote for DeWine in the next Republican primary if 59.6% are happy with the job he is doing. Perhaps that is simply a display of Party loyalty, or they think DeWine is a “nice guy”. In our opinion, the Republican voters are sending conflicting messages.

Obviously, the sample group have bought into the lies and deceptions that masks work when major worldwide scientific groups say that masks have no impact in stopping the virus spread. Fear is a tremendous motivator that shuts down rational thought.]
