We listened to an 8th Grade student at Riverside Middle School read a page from the book titled Between the Shades of Gray at the school board meeting last night.

In our opinion, the book is totally inappropriate for 13 – 14 year old students. We understand that there was no warning by the school administrators that the book containing sexually explicit material.

The page from the book follows the video, and we will let our readers decide if they believe that it is appropriate reading material for that grade. The Covid virus lockdown of the schools did have an upside. it allowed parents to see and hear what is being taught in their public schools.
