I received a call from the Kirtland Superintendent today. He verified that for the College Credit Plus Program Kirtland costs were are follows:
2015 – 2016 815 Total College Credits @ $41.57 = $33,838 Cost to Kirtland Schools
2016 – 2017 796 Total College Credits @ $41.57 = $33,090 Cost to Kirtland Schools
2017 – 2018 to date – 94 Total College Credits @ $41.57 = $3,908 Cost to Kirtland
Also, Kirtland School District ranks 37th in the State of Ohio’s Ranking of most affluent school districts in the State of Ohio. Therefore, they get the minimum amount allowed by law as reimbursement from the State of Ohio – $300 per student. Remember that $6,010 is the maximum given to each District, but it is adjusted by the “wealth” of the District.
78% of the School’s budget is paid by local taxpayers.
(Comment: I am curious – with all of the redistribution of the wealth by the State and Federal government why do we still have poverty? Now if the State could only fix the broken families, maybe, just maybe we can make some progress.)
