Cuyahoga Community College extends President Alex Johnson’s contract

CLEVELAND, Ohio- Cuyahoga Community College President Alex Johnson has agreed to a four year contract extension. 

Johnson, 65, was hired in 2013, and his contract expired on July 1. Trustees on Thursday agreed to extend his agreement through 2020. 

Here are the terms:

Salary: He will earn $318,000 a year. He earned $303,188 last year. He is eligible for a salary increase each year following a performance review.

Retention bonus: He will continue to receive an annual retention bonus of $12,000 a year, payable monthly.

Performance bonus: He will continue to be be eligible for a performance bonus of up to 10 percent of his base salary each year.

Residence allowance: He will receive a residence allowance of $36,000 a year, payable in monthly installments. That is an increases of $31,800 a year.

Vacation: He is entitled to five weeks of paid vacation. 

Sick leave: He is entitled to three weeks of sick leave.
