Mentor’s Maggie Cook accepts questionable campaign contribution

Dear Mentor Residents:

Maggie Cook is running for one of the three open seats on the Mentor School Board.  She has accepted a $2,500.00 campaign contribution from the Mentor Teachers Association.

Can this be a conflict-of-interest being that if she is elected, she may make decisions or vote on issues that directly affect Mentors Teachers ???

I believe other candidates for Mentor School Board have declined to accept a donation from the Mentor Teachers Association for just that reason !

Why does Mrs. Cook think it is alright for her to accept this contribution, while another candidate believes, rightly so, that it could pose a conflict-of-interest in the future ?  Just asking !!!

A concerned Mentor Citizen
