We received the following information from Riverside’s Director of Curriculum, Melissa Mlakar.
This all sounds good, but we would rather have the school district concentrate on getting their overall proficiency from 75% to 85% overall. Looks like the State is following in the Boy Scouts footsteps by offering merit badges. Interesting that they do not mention a Journalism Seal.
From attending the last board meeting, I get the distinct impression that there is trouble brewing at Riverside High School. Fighting and bullying seem to be a daily fare. A new school building is not going to solve their systemic problems.
