CLEVELAND, Ohio – Some Cuyahoga County seniors who have fallen behind on their property taxes could qualify for forgiveness under a new program that Executive Chris Ronayne hopes will help more seniors to age at home.
The proposed Taxpayer Assistance Program will pay up to $10,000 in tax bills for seniors aged 70 or older and making less than $70,000 a year, who have fallen delinquent on their property taxes. Ronayne hopes the program can prevent tax foreclosure or displacement.
