They told me in a phone conversation that they are “an employment agency for volunteers”.  Their financial information is produced by the Willoughby-Eastlake School District Treasurer’s office. They received the following payments from the Lake County Senior levy for the years 2013 – 2017.

FY 2015     $121,342
FY 2016     $121,000
FY 2017     $115,000
Total           $619,925  4.72% of Senior levy funds distributed

I sent an email telling them who we were, and why we need the financial information.  We want to ensure that these agencies are good stewards of the taxpayers’ money.  I asked for 5 years worth of financial information.  Here is a sample of what I was sent.  To say it is the bare minimum is an understatement.

I do not get the impression that the taxpayers’ funds are being spent wisely.  I will be speaking to the Lake County Administrator, who expressed knowledge about the distribution of Senior Levy funds when I asked questions about the allocation of funds at a Commissioners’ meeting.  Stay tuned for more details on this non-profit.
