Dear Republican State Central Committee Member, 

It’s come to our attention that you and several Republican State Central Committee members are violating the trust of the voters who put you on the committee. You have been ignoring the rules and regulations the committee has agreed to. We wish to remind you that your job is NOT to usurp millions of Ohio Republican voters by endorsing your favored candidates prior to the 2022 Primary Election. Your tipping the scales in such a manner ignores the will of Republican voters. Likewise, “closing” the meeting is another sign of the arrogance and cronyism that was on full display at the December meeting: transparency-reluctance was obvious, and repeated requests for roll call votes were ignored.

OPEN THE MEETING TO THE PUBLIC – FOLLOW YOUR BYLAWS

Incontestably, your job is to ensure the bylaws of the State Central Committee are enforced; and yet you demonstrate an unwillingness to do even that.  Article V, Meetings, Section 3 says in part that “All meetings of the Committee shall be open to the public and press.”  Your ignoring of this plain language and your condoning of the move to exclude the public this month is inexcusable. You must know that your constituents will deem such violations of SCC bylaws unconscionable. 

HOLD THE PARTY OFFICIALS ACCOUNTABLE FOR VIOLATING YOUR BYLAWS

Additionally, during the December 2021 meeting, you refused to take direct action when party officials clearly violated Article VI, Vacancies and Endorsements, Section 2(d) by providing over $800,000 in Party money and other services to several unendorsed incumbent candidates.  Article VI, Section 2(d) clearly states unendorsed candidates cannot access Party funding and other services.

DO NOT ENDORSE IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY ELECTION!

On February 18th, you have one more opportunity to do what is right by letting the voters decide who wins the Primary Elections in 2022 (May 3rd or other).  Show the voters who put you on the State Central Committee that you respect them and their judgment, and DO NOT vote to endorse any candidates on February 18th!  Most importantly, DO NOT ENDORSE DeWINE!
