Mentor to hold fair housing assessment meetings

The City of Mentor is conducting a series of Assessment of Fair Housing meetings as required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development its Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule. These meetings are informational in nature to discuss the challenges to fair housing facing the community.

The assessment is necessary to complete the assessment of issues surrounding fair housing in the community, and to help create attainable goals that remove limits on housing choice.

Here is the meeting schedule:

  1. October 23rd, 25th, 27th from 11 am to 1 pm at the Mentor Municipal Center, 2nd Floor Conference Room, 8500 Civic Center Blvd.
  2. October 26th from 7 pm – 8:30 pm at the Mentor Public Library Village Room, 8215 Mentor Avenue
  3. October 28th from 11 am to 1 pm at the Mentor Municipal Ice Arena, Woods Room, 8600 Munson RoadOnce all comments from the community are compiled and the technical research is completed, a final meeting will be held during the first week of December to review the draft report before it is presented to HUD.
