We attended the Auburn Career Center Board meeting tonight (March 5th) and spoke to the Board members about them wasting taxpayers property taxes.
Here is a transcript of what Brian Massie said to the Auburn Board members.
Superintendent Brian Bontempo handed out the following FAW document for anyone that my want additional information about the lawsuit.
We just discovered that the “Learning Center” across from the Auburn main facilities was sold under the guise of needing more classrooms. It turns out that there is no “learning” that goes on in there. Auburn is the landlord for the Educational and Service Center for Geauga and Lake County.
By the way, did you know that the Educational Service Center is the bookkeeper for the property tax levy collected for the “Lake County Financing District”? We will be pulling back the curtain on that financial drain just as soon as we can.
We plan to contact our elected State Representatives about the issue of “taxation without representation” with the appointment of the Auburn Board members by the school districts rather than being elected by the taxpayers that are paying millions in property taxes to fund Auburn. There was a tea party a few years back in Boston that addressed the same problem. Our older readers probably have heard about this event. Unfortunately, the younger readers would not understand the reference since history is not taught in the public schools anymore.
