It will be interesting to hear about the proficiency scores for the school year 2023 – 2024 at the October . Let us see if this school is even in the top ten of Ohio schools. We know that they are not number 1 in Lake County.

We find it appalling that a school board member has to ask for police security to her car because of the unruliness of the school teachers, union members and their supporters. If this is acceptable conduct to the School Administrators and the Teachers’ unions, then they should be ashamed of themselves. They are not good role models for the children!

Riverside’s Financial Officer, Gary Platko, confirmed that the Riverside School District, due to the sexennial revaluation, will get an additional $3.6 million in property taxes without a vote of the taxpayers. Mr. Platko stated that it will cost the Riverside taxpayers approximately $93 per $100K of appraised (market) value of their property.

Riverside’s taxpayers can get some of that money back by voting NO on the renewal of the Lake County Financing District levy. You can save $59 per $100K by voting NO on the renewal of this levy. Here is the ballot language:

Lake County School Financing District
A majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage.

A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Lake County School Financing District for the purpose of current expenses for specified educational programs within the territory of the Lake County School Financing District that the county auditor estimates will collect $6,018,000 annually, at a rate not exceeding 4.9 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $59 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s appraised
value, for 5 years, commencing in 2025, first due in calendar year 2026.

We cannot allow the school district to price seniors and those living on fixed incomes out of their homes that they have worked all their lives to achieve. To continue to financially support a school district that is not producing outstanding results does not make sense.

ANY TAX THAT CAUSES A CITIZEN TO BECOME HOMELESS IS IMMORAL!
