Offices closed due to water line break
Painesville, OH – Due to a water line break in Building C of the Lake County Administration Center at 105 Main Street, the county offices of Auditor, Treasurer, Recorder, and the Veterans Service Commission will be closed to the public on Monday, January 26th, 2026.
Each office will monitor clean-up operations daily and keep the public updated as to when each office will be open to the public.
The Lake County Treasurer’s Office will remain open at their drive-through location for tax collection, from 10AM to 2PM on Monday. Additionally, taxpayers are reminded they can remit property tax payments online and via the secured drop box in the Building C parking lot.
“We ask the public to keep in mind we will have limited, skeleton staff available while clean-up operations are underway and this may affect our ability to answer calls, return calls, etc. We appreciate the public’s understanding as we work to get operations back to normal,” Auditor Galloway said.
“Rather than calls, we encourage emailing each office at this time for inquiries and we will do our best to respond in a timely fashion,” Treasurer Zuren said. “We are asking the state to extend collection deadline by one week for Lake County.”
“Reminder to title companies you can still submit transfers via our e-Recording system, and we will do our best to process with limited staffing during the clean up,” said Recorder Becky Lynch.
Public is encouraged to follow each office’s Facebook for daily updates.
