A board of township trustees may establish reasonable charges for the use of fire and rescue services, ambulance services, or emergency medical services. The board may establish different charges for township residents and nonresidents, and may, in its discretion, waive all or part of the charge for any resident…ORC 505.84
Concord’s Administrator Andy Rose sent me the following information about EMS billing in the Township.
“The Concord Township Board of Trustees (“Board”) may establish reasonable charges for the use of fire and rescue services, ambulance services, and/or emergency medical services.”
If the Fire Department transports a patient to an emergency care facility, the Fire Department will
bill the patient via the third-party administrator (“TPA”), which is the emergency medical service
(“EMS”) billing vendor contracted with Concord Township, according to rates approved by the
Board.
