My father-in-law, George Basilone, was always proud to have the same last name as the World War ll hero, John Basilone (also known as Manilla John). John is a legend in the Marine Corp, being the only enlisted recipient of the Medal of Honor, Navy Cross and the Purple Heart. We offer this as another tribute to a great American who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country.
