We have known for quite some time that our population is aging (it is the “baby boomers” rounding third and heading home), but we have never seen any projected numbers. So we thought that we would try our hand at projecting the number of people by various age groups through 2030. The base data was obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Center for Community Solutions, and we made some assumptions that made the projections possible.

We are going to next analyze the poverty numbers provided by the State of Ohio, to see if we can project how seniors and others are going to be impacted by increasing real estate taxes.
