In keeping with our policy of total honesty and transparency on all local issues, we are informing Lake County residents that we had to create a ballot committee to fight the Morley Library continuous levy.

We went to the Lake County Board of Elections and asked one of their friendly, helpful associates what needs to be done to comply with the law.

They gladly spent time giving us the necessary forms and the education on what had to be done.  They even sent a reminder that if we spent or received more than $1,000, we would have to file a pre-election campaign report. Since we had more energy than money, that was not an issue.

After the deadline for filing, we will ask for copies of the opposition’s Campaign Finance Report, and post it for all to see.
