Secretary of State Frank LaRose to join Hawkins and Plecnik for Virtual Business Roundtable on Rebuilding Ohio’s Economy

Columbus, Ohio – On October 20, 2020, John Plecnik is scheduled to join Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and Shay Hawkins for a Virtual Business Roundtable on rebuilding Ohio’s economy in the wake of COVID-19.  

The event is Tuesday, October 20th at 5:30pm and will take place virtually via Zoom.  The event is free and open to the public courtesy of the Opportunity Funds Association or OFA.  

Please e-mail shay@zonefunds.org to RSVP and receive the Zoom Link.  Plecnik is an Associate Professor of Law at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, where his scholarship focuses on the intersection of taxation and public policy.  Plecnik also serves as the Republican State Central Committeeman for Ohio Senate District 18, which includes portions of Lake, Geauga and Portage Counties.  

Hawkins is the President and Co-Founder of the Opportunity Funds Association.  Hawkins is also known for his work in helping to draft the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act of 2017 as Tax Counsel to U.S. Senator Tim Scott. 

They will be joined by Renee Ligon of Team NEO and Greg Lawson of The Buckeye Institute.  “Shay Hawkins and I are excited to welcome the Secretary of State and a panel of experts to engage in a serious discussion on how to lead Ohio’s comeback,” said Plecnik.  “The lives and livelihoods of Ohioans depend on it.”
