“It’s A Matter Of Life…”

In Saint Benedict’s time, communities were formed to answer the evil of his day. To combat it, to resist it, to militate against it. Saint Benedict and those who followed him realized that when light militates darkness, the light is always victorious—but the light needs to be brought into the darkness.
As we watch the news on any day, it is rife with examples of how the human person is under attack. The killing fields of our major cities on any given weekend, ISIS and the Taliban, to the death chambers of Planned Parenthood are our modern examples of evil on a supernatural level.
As defenders of all human life, our mission must be to bring the light of Christ into our world’s darkness.
