Commissioner John Plecnik files for second term with ENDORSEMENT of Commissioners and Sheriff

(Painesville, OH) – On January 19th, Commissioner John Plecnik filed his petitions to run for a second term on the Lake County Board of Commissioners for the full four year term commencing on January 1, 2023.  Last year, the Lake County Republican Party voted overwhelmingly to appoint Plecnik the 79th Commissioner in the history of Lake County.  Today, all of his colleagues on the Board of Commissioners and the Sheriff issued their official endorsement of Commissioner John Plecnik.

“Lake County is truly blessed that John Plecnik has stepped up to run and serve for four more years.  As a Willoughby Hills Councilman, John used his expertise as a law professor to personally draft and negotiate the tax abatement that brought over 300 good-paying jobs and the single biggest employer in the last decade to Lake County.  Now as Commissioner, John is working with the Lake Development Authority to expand lakefront access and take economic development in our community to the next level,” said President John Hamercheck of the Lake County Board of Commissioners.

“John Plecnik is a man of faith with a moral compass that always points true north.  We can trust him to make the tough decisions and do what is right.  Today, seniors on fixed incomes are suffering from inflation.  It was John who researched and first proposed the 25% discount on Lake County water and sewer bills for low income seniors and I was proud to support it.  John’s background as a law professor serves Lake County well in considering issues related to the Ohio revised code and recommending new laws to better serve Lake County.  That is why I am so proud to endorse my great friend John for four more years!” said Commissioner Ron Young

“John Plecnik 100% supports law enforcement, so I 100% support and endorse him for another term as Commissioner.  In voting for the COPS Grant, John helped me to put more Deputies on the streets and protect Lake County families.  John will always Back the Blue and keep Lake County safe,” said Sheriff Frank Leonbruno.

“I am grateful to God for the opportunity to serve my neighbors as their Commissioner, and I view this work as a calling.  Today, we face many challenges like runaway inflation, but I stand ready to face them.  We need Common Sense.  We need to support the Police so they can do their job and keep us safe.  We need to balance our budget.  And we need to remember the values that our Nation and Lake County were founded on.  In the past year, I worked with leaders in all 23 municipalities in the county to listen and help get what they need.  With your support, we will win together in November and protect the future of Lake County!” said Commissioner John Plecnik.
