HB 546 Needs Support from Seniors…updated 2/10/22

LFC Comments by Brian Massie, Executive Director
Thanks to Concord resident, Bob Patterson, for making us aware of HB546 and his efforts supporting State Representative, Diane V. Grendell’s (District 76), sponsorship of legislation intended to help Seniors.

LFC has been very concerned that if we stay on the path of ever-increasing property taxes, we will price seniors and those living on fixed incomes out of their homes that they have worked all their lives to achieve. We support Bob Patterson and Representative Diane V. Grendell in their efforts to help Ohio seniors.

LFC agrees 100% with Bob Patterson – who is fighting for the Seniors at the State level? Many thanks, Bob, for speaking out on behalf of Seniors!

I will do my best to see if we can get some support from our Commissioners and Trustees as this is a very important Bill to ease the tax increases for senior citizens, most of whom are on a fixed income.  Here in Concord we are already facing a new school levy to increase everyone’s taxes, and it is being met with severe resistance from the Senior Community.

Representative Grendell’s office is asking the community for more support of their efforts on HB 546.

“It was nice chatting with you earlier. As I mentioned, House Bill 546 – the tax elimination fund is awaiting a committee referral. Rep Grendell indicates the bill needs more support from the various senior centers, townships, and newspapers – the representative has not seen any press coverage directly relating to HB 546.”
