Is the United Methodist Church Really United?…updated June 9, 2023…the end is near

By Brian Massie, Citizen Journalist, Christian

The spiritual battle of good versus evil has surfaced in the United Methodist Church. Friends have been telling me about the meeting to be held at the United Methodist Church in Willoughby, Ohio on Monday, June 5th at 6:00 pm. We will attend as a citizen journalist, and report back to our readers on what we discover.

The following document was sent to us and details the “disaffiliation” of local churches from the United Methodist Church.

It seems that the homosexuality and drag queen issues have come to the forefront in this church. As our culture continues to remain on the wide path of destruction, in our opinion, we will see less and less formal church participation, and continual attacks on Christianity that will force people to have services in their home.

Here is the website giving the history of the Methodist Church:

https://www.umc.org/en/who-we-are/history#:~:text=Though%20The%20United%20Methodist%20Church,to%20spread%20the%20Methodist%20movement.

Excerpt from their website:

“Though The United Methodist Church was officially created in 1968, its history dates back to 1730 when John and Charles Wesley, two students at Oxford University in England, gathered a small group of students who sought to spread the Methodist movement.”

LFC Comments: We wonder what the Bible has to say about these issues dividing the United Methodist Church? Although I do not profess to be a Bible scholar, this message is pretty clear to me. The only question is: “What price will they pay for abandoning the revealed Word of God?”

Romans 1: 18 – 32 [NASB]

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

19  because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23  and they exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible mankind, of birds, four-footed animals, and [p]crawling creatures.

24 Therefore God gave them up to vile impurity in the lusts of their hearts, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged natural relations for that which is contrary to nature, 27 and likewise the men, too, abandoned natural relations with women and burned in their desire toward one another, males with males committing shameful acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper, 29 people having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unfeeling, and unmerciful; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.

One further comment: Contrary to the preaching of my local Catholic Church, the message, in my opinion, of Sodom and Gomorrah was NOT that they showed a “lack of hospitality”!

Updated June 9, 2023

I attended a meeting at the downtown Willoughby United Methodist Church to listen to their discussion on whether or not to disaffiliate with the worldwide Methodist Church if they meet next year and decide to allow homosexual ministers and perform same sex marriage in their church.

There were approximately 75 people in the church with at least 80% over 60 years of age, and evenly split between male and female.

Although nothing was decided, there were vocal proponents and opponents of the issues. However, the loudest round of applause was given to a female that made the statement that we “should not judge” anyone.

Here is the Bible verse to which she referred:

“Do not judge, so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.  Matthew 7:1-2 NASB

The only problem was that the church leader, named Edgar, had to admit that he had to judge a pedophile minister in their church that harmed a child.

In any event, it is our opinion that there was a 70% – 30% spilt in favor of accepting homosexual pastors (male, female and whatever) in leadership roles and consecrating same sex marriage.

I have said for quite some time that Europe is foreshadowing what will happen in the United States. Their churches have been closing for quite some time, and, unfortunately, we will see that happening in our country.

The over 60 demographics will not financially support the churches, and the under 60 demographics will not attend the churches for a variety of reasons.

We truly are in a spiritual battle of good versus evil, and people are starting to realize that we are in the “End Times”!
