Editorial Comment by Brian Massie, A Watchman on the Wall

We agree with Mayor Marra. The state politicians want to make Ohio the new “silicon valley” by making tremendous concessions to the large corporations and their data centers. These latest technology beasts will consume tremendous amounts of water, and electricity without really providing a lot of jobs for Ohio.

Ohio citizens stand to lose clean water, and either sky high electricity costs, or reduced availability of both. It does not sound like a good deal for the citizens of Ohio. Citizens should demand that the leaders of the state legislators, Matt Huffman and Rob McColley, explain why Ohio needs data centers.

So we ask the question:

Why are data centers good for Ohio?”
