Did you know that all Veterans can receive an identification card free of charge from the Lake County Recorder’s office? Their office is located in the basement of the Administration building (105 Main Street, Painesville, 44077)
You will need to bring your DD 214 Form with you. This is the form that you received when you were discharged from the service. If you do not have a copy of your form, here is a link that you can use to get a copy:

At the Recorder’s office, you will be asked to complete a simple one page form, they will take your picture and will give you a laminated United States Veteran ID Card. The whole process took about 15 minutes.
In addition, you will receive a form titled “VetsNet Participating Businesses” that provides details of discounts provided to Veterans by Lake County Business. Also, you will receive information on Lowe’s discount program that requires you to register on-line with them.
Thanks to Lake County officials and businesses for not forgetting the sacrifices made by everyone that served this great country.
