State of Ohio House Bill 586…..give credit to Rep. John Rogers

Although we have disagreed with State Representative John Rogers’ decisions in his second job as the Executive Director of the Lake County Land Bank, we must applaud his efforts to at least try to do something for seniors in Lake County.

He is co-sponsoring a bill that will remove the income limit test for the calculation of the Homestead Exemption.  It will not make a major impact on what is happening to seniors being priced out of their homes, but it is a start and we thank Representative Rogers for his efforts.

Here is the proposed legislation:

We will let you know if we hear about any movement to get this piece of legislation passed.
