Thanks to Lobbyists Jim and Elliot for this article that indicates that other States have recognized what we have been saying: The ever increasing real estate taxes are pricing seniors out of their homes that they have worked all their lives to achieve. Although the State of Ohio has the “Homestead Exemption” it has severe income limitations and the State continues to lower the benefit. We need to continue to pursue a reduction or elimination of the property taxes. There has to be a better method for funding public schools.

As I continue to speak to seniors throughout Lake County, I have had 100% agreement that property taxes are driving people out of their homes.
