Pennsylvania Superintendent Admits to Hiding Student’s Gender Transition from Parents

West Chester, Nov 10, 2022 —  West Chester, Nov 10, 2022 — Earlier today, No Left Turn in Education (NLTE) broke this story. During the October 25th West Chester, PA School Board meeting, a parent asked Dr. Sokolowski, the Superintendent, if the district hides students’ gender transition from parents. Dr. Sokolowski admitted he did just that as principal of Henderson High School (2008-2012). Does this mean hiding paramount information from parents has been going on for more than a decade?

In addition, we uncovered the district’s detailed and extensive CONFIDENTIAL Gender Support Plan. The plan even includes arrangements for instances when the child has a sibling at the school, or when the child has an IEP, on how to keep the parents in the dark about their child’s transition.

NLTE also acquired email communication between a parent and the superintendent where Dr. Sokolowski says “I cannot say that a student who is simply questioning their identity would constitute a health and safety issue” in response to being asked if he would inform the parents under such circumstances.

This comes just weeks after we exposed that the same district held training for elementary school teachers on how to introduce  transgenderism to kids as young as five.

Can public trust in schools be restored?

About NLTE: No Left Turn in Education is a national grassroots movement of common-sense parents and community members from diverse backgrounds that seeks to revive in American education the fundamental discipline of objective thinking by educating, empowering, and engaging students, parents, and community, emphasizing the role of the parent as the primary custodian and authority of their child.
