The Ohio Constitution states:
- Every citizen of the United States who is of the age of eighteen years or over and who has been a resident of the state thirty days immediately preceding the election at which the citizen offers to vote, is a resident of the county and precinct in which the citizen offers to vote, and has been registered to vote for thirty days, has the qualifications of an elector and may vote at all elections in the precinct in which the citizen resides.
The Secretary of State, Frank LaRose has issued new directives to each County Board of Elections dealing with forms of identification that may not used in order to vote. At the training sessions for the Poll Workers and Voter Location Managers, each participant will receive the following flyer:
We thank Mr. Dante Lewis, Director of the Lake County Board of Elections, for agreeing to allow us to record him telling us about the steps taken at all Lake County polling locations to ensure that only U.S. Citizens vote in Lake County.
We also did not know that the Voter Location Manager and the Poll Workers (PEO’s) can also challenge someone that they do not believe is a U.S. Citizen. Here is the form that is used:
