Brother Gilbert sent the following message of all State of Ohio legislators.

Leonard Gilbert
Citizens Against Property Taxes
November 20, 2024
Brian and I made it to Columbus (Tuesday – 11/19/24) and had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Brian Stewart and his aide Jared Ysseldyke. First of all, we want to personally thank them for their time. We had a good exchange of information, and it helped us to prioritize our path forward. We also know that there are many initiatives that are in discussion but understand that they will only serve as temporary stopgaps.
Mr. Stewart also provided some suggestions that may provide immediate relief on the current state. The key takeaway from our discussion about the property tax is the reality that this system cannot be sustained. With that in mind, it is critical that we do not lose sight of the long term to come up with a permanent solution. Which will also require taking more than just a cursory look at areas of our local governments to define essential versus nonessential services.
It goes back to the fundamental question, what is the role of government? The current situation is that the local government has outgrown the ability of the private sector to support it. This is not a Republican versus Democrat issue. This is a right vs wrong issue!
I want to say that Brian and I find that having Mr. Stewart as a state rep is a blessing to the State of Ohio. He is willing to seek tangible and realistic solutions to improve the effectiveness/efficiency of our state and local governments. This requires a vision that exhibits out of the box thinking.
I hope that our fellow citizens and his other colleagues take the time to get to know him. And as citizen activists, Brian and I would also find it a privilege to support him in his efforts as well. But this offer extends to all of the leaders that are willing to help or provide guidance as we move forward with our mission. That is why we still have the desire to meet with others. So please consider taking the time to do so. I look forward to hearing from you.
