By Brian Massie, A Watchman on the Wall

Here is the latest report card on the Lake County Riverside School District’s reading proficiency.

The grading scale is the Ohio Department of Education’s way of deceiving the taxpayers – pure and simple.

The unweighted proficiency in third grade reading in 65.3%. That is a “D” in the past, but the grading system promoted by the Department of Education allows the school to have a higher proficiency score if they pass all the children to the fourth grade. So Riverside is proudly showing a third grade reading proficiency of 73.7%. it bumps them up to a C-minus grade.

The whole system needs to be scrapped….We are being deceived and betrayed!
