Concord Township Meeting….let your voice be heard

We have been akded to post this article by a Concord resident…….

MULTI MILLION DOLLAR LEVY PLANNED
FOR TWO NEW CONCORD TWP. FIRE STATIONS

Fellow Concord Citizens:

While there may be a need for new Fire Stations, they must be AFFORDABLE.

However to fund this project, Concord Trustees are considering a Continuous Levy on the November ballot. As recently designed, the Stations will cost us millions of dollars more than new fire stations in half a dozen other local communities.

Continuous Levy means that we, as taxpayers, will pay the assessment not for a few years but for decades, into perpetuity.  It will not end.  Even after the Stations are paid off.  We cannot afford more continuous levies in Concord. We already pay a continuous Safety Levy and a continuous Road Levy.

1-The Fire Stations should and can be built without additional taxes.
2-The Trustees should save money in order to build these Stations.
3-The Trustees should secure grants and state funding to help cover some costs.

It is critical for Concord residents to attend the Town Hall Trustee Meeting this Wednesday, June 19th at 7:30 p.m.  before final decisions are made.
Talk with the Trustees.       Listen to the discussion.       Propose options.
BE PART OF THE DECISION PROCESS.

Please call your Concord friends and neighbors now. Tell them you will meet them at 7:30 at Town Hall located at the corner of Ravenna Road and Rt. 608 Concord-Hambden Road.
