I have been asked what are the next steps that can be taken to resolve our increasing real estate tax problem. I have found the procedures to initiate a statute under Ohio law. Here is the link: (you may have to copy and paste to your browser)

This is no easy task, and would require an “army” of volunteers. We would be required to collect signatures of 3% of the total number of voters in each county that voted in the last election for governor. Here is a schedule that gives the number of signatures by County. Looks like we would need 91,677 signatures from across the State of Ohio.

I think that we have to: (1) identify and define the problem, (2) educate the citizens, (3) inform our legislators that this issue must be addressed, (4) offer our solutions with a proposed statute.
If anyone has any expertise in this area, we would appreciate the help. Thank you.
