NOACA…What is it?

The initials NOACA means the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency.  Here is a link to their website:  http://www.noaca.org/

There was a meeting in Chardon on Thursday so that NOACA could hear from Geauga residents. Our friends from Auburntownship.org were there and have written a great article on what happened.  We salute their outstanding efforts to keep Geauga County residents informed.

“The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) has been the subject of this website multiple times in recent months. It appears again today because NOACA is now holding “discussions” all over northeast Ohio in an effort apparently to provide a plan for centralized transport directed toward senior citizens and disabled individuals. The latest such meeting occurred last evening at Chardon Public Library in an effort, apparently, to elicit bad vibes about Geauga Transit. The twenty or so Geauga residents who turned out, along with a representative of Geauga Transit, extolled the public services offered by Geauga County and appeared to trounce NOACA within an inch of its federally-funded existence.”

(LFC Comment:  NOACA has a lot of power because of the money they get from federal and state funds.  I have asked the Lake County Commissioners if they believe that Lake County is getting a fair share of those funds, and I was told be all three Commissioners that they are satisfied with NOACA’s treatment toward Lake County.)
