{LFC Comment:  Call us cynics..but with the amount of money being spent on advertising, someone is “feathering their own nest” with this issue.  The deregulation of the industry gave us a “generation company” and a “distribution company”.  The “distribution company is “coning money” and providing 7 figure incomes to their executives and profits to their shareholders.  The “generation company” is losing money and needs to be supported by the taxpayers.  Is that the free market at work, or is it a scam being played on the taxpayers?)

Since we have no Representation in Ohio, we can’t get what we want, so this is what you are going to get: • HB 6 puts a tax on your electric bill each month of $3 to keep Ohio’s two remaining nuclear power plants running – that will rise to $6 per month over six years. • The current ten year-old tax on your electric bill is $8 per month and will rise to $9.98 to “subsidize” wind and solar. • Look at the chart above – see how little electricity Ohio gets from wind and solar? • This is AFTER You and I have been forced to pay the Leftist environmental mafia $288 Million Per YEAR – and have been paying them for the past for 10 years thanks to Jon Husted and Ted Strickland – to produce a measly 1% our electricity! • Worst of all the original SB 221 didn’t keep the money in Ohio – so 50% of it has been going out of state helping the environmental Left destroy our nation! • That is why you hear all these commercials against HB 6 paid for by OUT OF STATE environmental groups and the Petroleum Institute which wants to kill nuclear power! • HB 6 will CANCEL SB 221 and save each of you about $100 per year on your electric bill to keep our nuclear plants open – which IS the cleanest form of energy. • First Energy gets $100 Million per year under HB 6 – which is why they are spending $12 million on TV Ads and campaign donations to pass it! •Thanks to the Buckeye Institute, no money from this HB 6 can go out of state, and the money will only go to First Energy to cover “shortfalls” in revenue and cannot be used to make a profit Bottom line: We don’t have any say in this; Ohio Republicans deserve at least some credit for killing the existing SB 221, HB 6 is a corporate bail out for First Energy and it is going to pass; this has been bought and paid for in the last election; it will be better for you and I by $100 per year; it keeps our nukes running and actually producing clean and competitive energy; it doesn’t hurt our oil or gas; and it stops forcing us to give our money to the environmental left who uses it to destroy our nation.
