Pro-Abortion Kamala Harris – Part I

Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice presidential running mate to Joe Biden, has proven throughout her career that she has never supported the rights of the unborn. The big-name pro-abortion candidate has continually used her power and position to attack pro-life advocates, has allied herself with Planned Parenthood, and has voted against measures to protect life in the womb. Harris’ roles have included District Attorney of San Francisco, Attorney General of California, U.S. Senator, and failed U.S. presidential candidate in 2020. Along the way, her leftist policies have shown her to be a staunch supporter of abortion. This article will examine the key positions and actions she has taken in her quest to champion and normalize abortion.

Kamala Harris is known to harass and attack those who try to challenge her pro-abortion stance. As California attorney general, Harris set out to destroy pro-life activist and president of the Center for Medical Progress, David Daleiden, after he released undercover videos that exposed Planned Parenthood’s illegal sale of aborted baby parts. After meeting with several Planned Parenthood executives in 2016, Harris ordered a raid on Daleiden’s home to seize his videos, camera equipment, and hard drives. Harris then went on to prosecute Daleiden for violating undercover video laws. Daleiden was in fact the first person to ever be prosecuted for this in the state of California. Harris’ own deputy prosecutor later admitted in court that Daleiden was targeted solely because of the content of his videos.¹

“Kamala Harris decided to target me and make me the first and only case of criminal enforcement of the California video law,” Daleiden proclaimed.²
It is no surprise she targeted Daleiden for his exposé: Harris is endorsed by Planned Parenthood and other women’s rights lobbying groups such as NARAL Pro-Choice.³

In 2018, Harris also attacked Nebraska federal court nominee Brian Buescher, because he is a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic charitable fraternal organization.  She questioned his ability to act as a fair and impartial judge because of his Catholic beliefs. Her questions to Buescher included, “Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman’s right to choose when you joined the organization?”, “Do you agree with Mr. Anderson that abortion is ‘the killing of the innocent on a massive scale?'”, “Do you agree with Mr. Anderson that legalized abortion in the United States has ‘resulted in more than 40 million deaths?'”, and “Have you ever, in any way, assisted with or contributed to advocacy against women’s reproductive rights?”⁴

Kathleen Blomquist, a spokesperson for the Knights of Columbus summed it up this way: “We were extremely disappointed to see that one’s commitment to Catholic principles through membership in the Knights of Columbus—a charitable organization that adheres to and promotes Catholic teachings—would be viewed as a disqualifier from public service in this day and age.”⁵

“In the firstvideorelease, PPFA’s then Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, suggested prices “per-specimen” of fetal tissue, and advised that in her Planned Parenthood clinics, “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.” Dr. Nucatola also described using ultrasound guidance to flip the position of a living fetus to feet-first in order to extract the fetus whole, remarking, “So if you do it starting from the breech presentation, there’s dilation that happens as the case goes on, and often, the last step, you can evacuate an intact calvarium [head] at the end,” and concluding, “We’ve been pretty successful with that, I’d say.”

In our opinion, anyone that reads that paragraph and “shrugs their shoulders”, or says “so what, no big deal”, has chosen darkness over the light. Our society will pay a heavy price for our choice of evil over good.
