It is now time to start calling out the elected officials that refuse to step up and protect the children.
We have written several articles about violations of the Ohio Revised Code Section 2907.321 “Pandering Obscenity to Minors and Impaired Persons”. Most recently we have highlighted the book titled “The Bluest Eye” by Toni Morrison.
We have contacted the Mentor Prosecutor, Mentor Police Department, Mentor-on-the Lake Prosecutor, Mentor-on-the -Lake Police Department, Lake County Prosecutor Charles Coulson, State of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, State Representative Jamie Callender, State Representative Dan Troy, and State Senator Jerry Cirino to determine if they can protect the children in the Mentor School District, as well as the entire State of Ohio.
The Mentor Law Director sent a letter stating that there isn’t anything he can do, but he stated that we could file police report with the Mentor Police Department if we believe that there has been a violation of the ORC section 2907.321. We did just that, and their only resolution, to date, is to say they contacted the Mentor School Superintendent, Craig Heath, and Heath stated that they have a procedure in place to review books. However, nothing can be done until the Fall when the teachers return to their job. That is not acceptable to the taxpayers!
The Lake County Prosecutor’s office has been missing-in-action. Prosecutor Chuck Coulson or his Assistants refuse to speak to me about this issue. Unfortunately, we must then conclude that the Lake County Prosecutor’s office will not help enforce the ORC section 2907.321 in our government schools. They will not protect the children of Lake County!
