Lake County Council on Aging’s March for Meals Fundraiser

By Brian Massie, A Watchman on the Wall

Mr. Joey Tomsick, CEO of the Lake County Council on Aging.

We are pleased to provide Mr. Joey Tomsick, Chief Executive Officer of Lake County Council on Aging, with a platform to educate the citizens of Lake County about the history of the Council on Aging, and their upcoming fundraiser at the Great Lakes Mall on March 16, 2024.

Mr. Tomsick revealed a very interesting fact that we should all remember. Approximately, one third of Lake County residents are over the age of 60. That means that there are about 77,000 residents over 60 years of age. The number one priority of seniors in Lake County is to “age in place”. They want to remain in their home, and not to be shuffled off to an apartment or senior living center.

That is why the projected 30% property revaluation to take place in 2024 with collection in 2025 is going to be particularly hard on those on fixed incomes.

We look forward to doing more podcasts with Mr. Tomsick.
