We received the following email from a Wickliffe, Ohio senior.
Brian,
If I can be of any help gathering signatures from my friends, etc. please send me the papers . I can barely walk, so door to door is out but I am sure any verified signatures will help.
I did not hear from the {Lake County] tax board for well over a 6 weeks so I called. I asked them about no communication at all from them and the 2 or 3 emails sent that were not answered.
I was put on hold for about 10 min. When he came back he said he found my appeal and asked another person there when they were going to do the OFFERS, AS I MENTIONED IN MY APPEAL ASKING TO PUT IT DOWN FROM $114,270.00 to about $90,00.00.
About 10 days later I received a letter stating upon consideration would I accept $88,390.00, and to sign my approval and send the letter back.
I was prepared to call a realtor or a buy it now company and sell my house of over 40 years which broke my body working 2 jobs plus side jobs to just put a roof over my family’s head. My resulting works as a truck/ car mechanic / body man gave me critical rheumatoid arthritis with Ankylosing Spondanitis ( fusing my cervical spine) 3 blown disks along with bone spurs in lower back, and heart and lung disease with knees so bad the pain is always severe and impossible to deal with without medication which i do not like taking but have to for severe pain
This is the burden those grubbing bastards everywhere that have made my string frayed and ready to break , and my fellow homeowners who are also in the same situation are at their wits end.
If this school levy eventually passes in Wickliffe I am done , down for the count. Without a doubt as you and I are about the only ones who took action on that overblown school bond levy and we’re constantly lied to and sent useless Crayola that had nothing to do with the WICKLIFFE bond issue.
If you can use any of this email edited for an article feel free to do so and maybe the brain dead might spark a thought of their own and wake up. SORRY for the long email but I felt you should read it and my, and others, plights could reach the brain dead and wake them up. God bless Brian.
