The Fallacy of ‘Public’ Education

Excerpts of the article:

Many people today are upset, and rightly so, about programs that promote “woke” values and “tolerance” for degeneracy. To counter this, some people support efforts to purge the schools of such programs and replace them with better ideas.  It’s easy to understand why people support such efforts, but this approach ignores the root cause of the problem,

So long as the government controls the “public” schools, there are bound to be conflicts over what should be taught there. Only if all schooling is supplied by the free market will the problem end. In a free market, parents can get schools that supply them with the sort of education they want for their children.

We face an unholy alliance of big-government libertarians and equality activists of all stripes to rob us of what remains of educational freedom, and to do so in the name of serving up ever more of our tax dollars to the underclass. Vouchers reinforce the twin evils of public education: involuntary funding and compulsory attendance.

Editorial comments by Brian Massie

It is interesting to me that the overwhelming majority of people will say that all children deserves a public education. However, in Ohio the majority say that not all children deserve to be born.

What am I missing? I think we need a “reset”, a “do over” as my kids used to say, with the Ohio Constitution. Something that has been changed over 174 times is not a bedrock of how the State should operate.

If the legislators do not follow their oath of office to support and defend the Ohio constitution, should the oath of office be required?

Article I, Section 1 | Inalienable Rights

Ohio Constitution /Article I Bill of Rights Effective September 1, 1851

“All men are, by nature, free and independent, and have certain inalienable rights, among which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and seeking and obtaining happiness and safety.”

If elected officials no longer believe that the right to own private property is the foundation of freedom and liberty, I submit that they can accurately be called “Socialists”.

ANY TAX CAUSING A CITIZEN TO BECOME HOMELESS IS IMMORAL!
