W-E Board of Education…living large on taxpayers’ dime

While driving north on Route 91, we could not help but notice the new home of the Willoughby-Eastlake Board of Education.

W-E BOE

Wow, they really know how to spend the taxpayers’ money.  We wonder if they will be giving tours to show how they are being good stewards of the taxpayers’ money.

Word of advice to Superintendent Thompson and his Board of Education  – perhaps you should have “kept it on the down-low” about your new digs.  A search of the word “ostentatious” provides us with this information.

Definition of ostentatious

attracting or seeking to attract attention, admiration, or envy often by gaudiness or obviousness overly elaborate or conspicuous characterized by, fond of, or evincing ostentation; an ostentatious display of wealth/knowledge,
“The power of the government was present … but it did not express itself in large and ostentatious buildings.”

As a reminder, Super. Steve and the B.O.E. are looking to fleece the taxpayers again with their 3rd try at passing a property tax levy.

Willoughby-Eastlake School District (49 Precincts)

$8,500,000 (Est. 4.94 Mills) – Emergency Requirements – 10 years – Commencing 2020 tax year

We have written quite a bit on this levy.   Cost to the taxpayers is $172.90 per year per $100,000 of home valuation.

The “emergency requirements” is their way of avoiding H.B.920.

We call this one the “senior killer” ….pushing more and more seniors out of their homes because of ever-increasing property taxes.  Required annual increase in income for HAT % is $576.33 per $100,000 of home market valuation. ($172.90 / .3))

you decide

Let’s see if taxpayers reward your lack of awareness on March 17th.
