Lake County Health Commissioner’s Important Message to Business Owners

Ron Graham, Lake County Health Commissioner, has an important message to Lake County businesses.

There have been reports from businesses of Ohio Department of Health “personnel” coming to or calling businesses stating that complaints have been made, and they are going to shut the business down.

When asked to provide identification, these individuals have refused.

Per the Ohio Department of Health, any personnel sent to conduct checks, or notify of complaints have proper identification, and should produce it when asked by the business owner.

If there is any question whether the identification is valid, the business owner should ask the investigator which department they work for, and a telephone number that will permit the owner to verify the individual identification.

Businesses should be advised that if they experience any issues like this, they should call the ODH Hotline and ask for Retail Compliance.

ODH Hotline: 1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634)

There is a weekly call between the ODH and the County Health Commissioners. Here is a questions and answer from the meeting held on 2/24/21.
