We would like to thank our Kirtland lobbyist for sending the following information about the “players” in the Ohio’s House of Representatives. The legislative aide is replying to a request for a meeting with the Representative.

LFC was told that Speaker Matt Huffman will not entertain any policy bills until after the budget is completed.
That means nothing will happen until after April 15th.
Unfortunately, Huffman and his band of merry men and women do not care enough about seniors being taxed out of their homes! They represent the donor class and not the average citizens.
Matt Huffman is the Representative of the 78th District, and lives in Lima, Ohio.
Never forget the immortal words of Lake County’s favorite son, former Commissioner and State Representative, Mr. Ron Young….take it away Ron….
Legislative Aide’s Response to constituent:
“I understand your frustration, and apologize if our office’s response was unsatisfactory. Representative Isaacson is prioritizing this issue and will be introducing bipartisan legislation to address some aspects of the property tax system shortly. The legislation was House Bill 263 in the last general assembly and is a step in the right direction to provide Ohioans with the property tax relief they need.
We appreciate you being engaged on this issue and sharing your lived experience, and encourage you to also share your perspective with these folks, who are uniquely positioned to help move reform move through the lawmaking process:
Speaker Huffman (Speaker of the House determines which bills are taken up by the full House body, and also has influence over whether bills get hearings in committee)
Representative Stewart (Chair of the House Finance Committee which is facilitating the state budget process)
Representative Hoops (Chair of the House Development Committee that takes up issues dealing with housing)
Representative Roemer (Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee that takes up issues dealing with taxation)
I can assure you that Representative Isaacsohn and his staff are working diligently to work on legislative solutions to everyday issues and will be advocating for property tax relief wherever possible.
Regards,
Morgan

House Bill 263 will freeze property taxes for some citizens. [permanently and totally disabled, sixty-five years of age, or surviving spouse of someone that met those criteria]
To Speaker Huffman and all State Reps – do you want to plead guilty now, or when you ask the citizens to vote for your re-election for this debacle:
