The following message was sent to us by a patriot in Ohio.
I want to thank you for your efforts to combat property taxes. My tax bill for the first half of this year was about $200 less than what I expected. The legislation that caused this reduction would not have been passed without the pressure you are putting on the state. I know these reforms don’t go far enough, but I will take any relief I can get.
Now the governor and others are trying to scare people, saying if your ballot initiative passes, sales taxes will go up to 20%. While I doubt that, I am certainly willing to pay more in sales tax. It will be a small price to pay to avoid the risk of LOSING MY HOUSE, which is paid for, and becoming a homeless person, if I can’t pay the property taxes.
It would also end the county auditor’s CON ARTIST GYP GAME every 3 years, where they jack up the property values to fictional levels, and the burden is on us to prove them wrong.
They also are avoiding the elephant in the room, the public schools. They should be abolished. They are failing in their mission of educating children, and they are unsafe due to the bullying and violence. From posts on Facebook, and from my observations from my own school days, sometimes the TEACHERS are sadistic bullies, or at least let the bad kids bully others, without stopping it. This whole boondoggle needs to end, both for the benefit of the kids and for the monetary savings to taxpayers.
