Property Tax & Chicken Little Syndrome

By Brian Massie, A Watchman on the Wall
Thank you to Thomas Potter for sending us an email expressing his concerns of fear mongering taking place by the socialists in our midst. Just in case you may not of heard of the Chicken Little Syndrome, here is an explanation:

Chicken Little Syndrome describes a pattern of fear-mongering or irrational panic, where individuals exaggerate minor issues into impending, catastrophic disasters, often proclaiming that “the sky is falling”. Rooted in the fable, this behavior leads to unnecessary hysteria, distraction, and potential paralysis in decision-making, often seen in workplaces or societal crises.

Senator Jerry Cirino is a leading “Chicken Little” in Lake County. He has declared war on “we the people”. In the following video he is speaking to Lake County politicians in Willoughby. “Chicken Little” Cirino doubled down recently at a Northeast Ohio Mayors’ and Managers’ meeting by calling out his long time friend, Timberlake Mayor John Marra, for being a leading advocate for the people of Timberlake, Lake County and the State of Ohio. Unlike Cirino, Mayor Marra believes in freedom and liberty for all, and believes that any tax causing a citizen to become homeless is immoral.

Cirino believes that if seniors cannot afford their property taxes they should sell their home and move into an apartment.

With friends like Jerry Cirino, who needs enemies. Comrade Cirino is a big government SOCIALIST. Government control has become the only solution for Cirino. He certainly should consider stepping down because he no longer represents the average citizens, and his goal as the Ohio Senate President will never happen!

Property Tax & Chicken Little Syndrome

Maybe Chicken Little, Henny Penny, Ducky Lucky, and Goosey Loosey should hold a Big Beautiful Bake Sale to fund Ohio schools and libraries before Foxy Loxy tricks them into his den, where they are eaten, highlighting the danger of blind panic and gullibility.

People can discern a pretty clear relationship between the costs and benefits of their local government and vote accordingly.

Ohio’s total budget is $99.91 billion for FY 2026. On December 19, 2025, the Governor signed into law a few bills relating to various aspects of ad valorem property tax reform. Almost a trillion dollar budget , and our state is throwing chicken feed to property owners!

No one should ever face the loss of their home because they can’t pay rent to the government.

Financially yours,

Thomas Potter
