Election Workers Needed

At today’s Lake County Commissioners’ meeting, a Ross McDonald, Director of the Board of Elections, spoke about the need for additional help for the May 8th election.

They will accept individuals 17 years old, if they are high school seniors.  The position pays $150.00 for the day, but you will work a 14 hours day.  If you are interested here is the contact information.

Mr. McDonald provided some statistics on the early voting.  There have been ~1,500 voters, 5% non-partisan, the balance 50% Democrats, and 50% Republicans. At the news of the early voters, Commissioner Troy was elated. (Note: he is running against Mr. Ron Young for the Commissioner’s seat that he currently holds.)

If you can handle the 14 hours, then this is a great way for people to give back to the community.
