We have written many times about RSVP, but in light of the lack of candor displayed by Willoughby-Eastlake Schools in their use of emergency levies, we wanted to tell Lake County taxpayers about this unnecessary expense thrust on Lake County taxpayers.
RSVP and Willoughby-Eastlake Schools – an unnecessary, expensive partnership
Lobbyists for Citizens has also uncovered unnecessary costs associated with the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program and the Willoughby-Eastlake school system. The schools are sponsors of RSVP, and there are two full-time employees being paid from the Lake County Senior Levy, and at the same time accruing retirement benefits from the Willoughby-Eastlake School system. In the last six years, Lake County taxpayers have paid $744,925 from the Senior Levy to Willoughby-Eastlake schools and their program known as RSVP.
We have a couple of suggestions for Lake County politicians and Willoughby-Eastlake schools that would save taxpayers a lot of money: (1) Transfer RSVP to the Lake County Council on Aging’s volunteer program, or (2) Have a Volunteer manage the volunteers.
Stop wasting taxpayers hard earned money and pricing seniors and those living on fixed incomes out of their homes.
