SUPPORT FOR THE PERRY NUCLEAR POWER PLANT ARTICLE UPDATE
Here is the Lake County Commissioners’ resolution dated January 3, 2019 in support of clean energy nuclear power in Ohio. resolution supporting nuclear power 1-3-19
At the latest Port Authority Board Meeting held on January 23, which is always open to the public by the way, we asked for the Port Authority’s support for the Perry Nuclear Plant. We reinforced the fact that if the Perry Nuclear Plant shuts down, the economic impact in lost jobs and taxes will be a severe blow to Lake County’s economy.
Mr. Rantala stated that he had already given his support to the Ohio Clean Energy Jobs Alliance, and a video of him appears on their website. [Sorry, Mr. Rantala, but we could not find it]. Commissioner Hamercheck requested a more formal declaration of support, such as a Board resolution that can be included in a package to State legislators.
We hope that the Port Authority Board will pass a resolution in support of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant at their next Board meeting in February.
[LFC NOTE: We have asked Concord Township to also pass a resolution supporting the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. We hope that all Lake County communities will pass resolutions so that our Commissioners have a stack a mile high to take to state legislators…]
…with thanks to TB….
